The South Haven Speakers Series, with the theme "Issues, Innovations and Ideas Shaping our Lives", was launched in 2015 for the purpose of informing citizens by stimulating thought on significant issues of the day through presentations by non-partisan experts not otherwise available to South Haven. The 2016 series will feature five presentations beginning in April and continuing through October.
The Series is made possible through grants from the South Haven Community Foundation, Meijer, and Carole & Don Hodgman. Refreshments are served after the presentation.
Erik Mollenhauer, a nationally recognized science educator with a passion about the environment, will speak on Tuesday, June 28, to the theme "Reconnecting with Nature in a Digital World". His presentation will challenge the audience to explore what happens to our humanity when we separate ourselves from nature. Mollenhauer is a past recipient of the New Jersey Presidential Award for Science Teaching.
