DESCRIPTION:South Haven Performance Series presents Hope College Sospiro Faculty Trio: Gabe Southard\, flute\; Sarah Southard\, oboe\; Sarah Bast\, piano\; on Friday\, July 28\, beginning at 7:30pm at First United Methodist Church.\n\n\n\nThe Sospiro Faculty Trio at Hope College aims to work with living composers to create new works of music for the instrumentation of flute\, oboe and piano. The trio\, which consists of flutist Robert "Gabe" Southard\, oboist Sarah Southard and pianist Sarah Bast\, performed at the 2016 Conference of the International Double Reed Society and 2016 Convention of the National Flute Association. Robert "Gabe" Southard conducts the Hope College Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. Sarah Southard has performed with the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami\, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Madison Symphony. Mary Bast has been an accompanist at Hope College since 2014. She has taught piano at the University of Michigan and the University of Maryland.\n\n\n\nNow in its eighth season\, the South Haven Performance Series has been an incredible success thanks to those who love the arts and continue to contribute with their gifts to provide our community with quality performances at a modest cost.
