SUMMARY:Kal-Haven Trail Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:The Van Buren Conservation District invites volunteers to join us Sunday\,\n\nSeptember 18th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM for our Kal-Haven Trail Clean Up event. We will meet\n\nat the Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park (take Blue Star Hwy North of Phoenix Rd.\,\n\nturn to take E Wells St. West\, and exit the roundabout on the first right to head North onto\n\nBailey Ave.) parking lot in South Haven and start picking up trash from there.\n\nThe Van Buren Conservation District has a long history of getting out into the community and\n\ncleaning up spaces in need of attention. In the past\, we have worked with volunteers and\n\npartnering organizations to conduct river and roadside clean ups\, and we look forward to\n\ncontinuing that work this Fall.\n\nThe Kal-Haven State Trail is a gem in Van Buren County. The 34-mile trail crosses the county\n\nwith two cities on its ends and villages\, forests\, wetlands\, farmland\, and prairies in-between.\n\nThe trail includes signage on local history\, a ghost town\, and parks with ample space for\n\npicnics or breaks. The Kal-Haven Clean Up event will help clear part of this beautiful trail of\n\ntrash to allow its natural beauty shine through for all to enjoy.\n\nVolunteers need to pre-register to ensure there are enough supplies. To participate\, all\n\nvolunteers will need to sign waivers and register themselves. Minors need an adult present to\n\nparticipate. Gloves\, high vis vests\, and trash pickers\, will be provided\; however\, volunteers are\n\nwelcome to bring their own supplies. We encourage volunteers to dress for the weather and\n\nto wear appropriate footwear.\n\nRegister or learn more by calling 269-633-9052 or register by filling out a form online. The\n\nform can be found here: https://vanburencd.org/trail-clean-up/
