DESCRIPTION:Presents\n\n												\n\n												 \n\n												For the second play of its inaugural season\, South Haven Theatre Series wil present Love Letters by award-winning actors Barbara Robertson and Greg Vinkler on Saturday\, September 22\, at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church\, 429 Michigan at Huron Street.\n\n												 \n\n												Love Letters is a play by A. R. Gurney that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play centers on Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. Using the epistolary form sometimes found in novels\, they sit side-by-side at tables and read the notes\, letters and cards written over nearly 50 years. They discuss their hopes and ambitions\, dreams and disappointments\, victories and defeats that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.\n\n												 \n\n												 \n\n												Barbara Robertson is an American actress and singer. She played the role of "Jan the Unnamed" for the American Theatre Company's Pre-Broadway Chicago production of Yeast Nation. Recently she played Mame at the Drury Lane Theatre. She may be most well known for playing Madame Morrible in the Chicago production of Wicked. She has also performed in Angels of America: Part I & II\, Hamlet\, A Little Night Music\, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?\, Mary Stuart\, La Bete\, Grand Hotel\, The Goat\, or Who Is Sylvia?\, Garden\, Pal Joey\, Black Snow\, Kabuki Medea\, and Emma's Child. She has received seven Joseph Jefferson Awards. Additionally\, Robertson has performed in many film and TV productions\, including The Company\, Straight Story\, Will of Their Own\, Disney's Mother's Courage\, Paramount's The Untouchables\, and Early Edition.   \n\n												 \n\n												 \n\n												Greg Vinkler has worked at Door County's Peninsula Players for 26 years. In that time he has directed 26 productions and performed in 44 shows. Favorite roles include Sherlock Holmes\, Salieri\, Sir Thomas More and Dr. Zubritsky in Fools. Greg performs extensively in Chicago\, appearing at Chicago Shakespeare (35 productions)\, Goodman\, Steppenwolf\, Shubert\, Court\, Writers\, Northlight\, Marriott Lincolnshire and Victory Gardens theaters\, and received three Joseph Jefferson Awards\, two Artisan Awards and an After Dark Award. Regionally he performed at Pittsburgh Public\, BoarsHead and Milwaukee Chamber theaters. He has appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of West Side Story and also at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon\, the Barbican Theatre in London\, Vienna's English Theatre and Singapore Rep.\n\n												 \n\n												Admission is $10. Tickets will be available beginning at  7 p.m. on the night of the performance.
