SUMMARY:Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The parade will begin at 9:00am in the South Haven High School Parking lot. The parade will then follow the same route as previous years\, starting on Center Street and marching along Phoenix Street to Lakeview Cemetery where a ceremony will take place at approximately 9:45am. \n\nThe parade will be led by Medal of Honor recipient Jim 'Doc' McCloughan for the\n\n53rd year\, who will also be the honored guest speaker.\n\nPost 49's Color and Honor Guard will proudly display the American Flag as the South Haven High School band provides the marching music. The 2023 Miss and Mister South Haven Court\, Little Miss Blueberry Court\, along with other presenters at the ceremony\, will also join the parade.\n\nPastor Jerry Koller is the Spiritual Leader for the ceremony to honor and mourn those military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties.\n\nHonored guests\, veterans and distinguished South Haven students will also\n\nparticipate in the event. The Lakeview Cemetery ceremony ends with the Post 49 Color Guard's three-rifle volley salute and echo taps.
