DESCRIPTION:The Impact of Immigration Law on Families\n\nSOUTH HAVEN\, MI   What happens to families caught in the crossfire of immigration law? \n\nOn Thursday\, September 11 at 7 p.m.\, attend the South Haven Speakers Series program at Lake Michigan College   South Haven Campus for this timely discussion by Professor David Thronson of Michigan State University College of Law.\n\nA leading expert on family law and immigration\, Thronson explores how shifting U.S. immigration policies and practices impact vulnerable children and families\, raising both legal and humanitarian questions.\n\n \n\nSpeakers' series board member Dana Hullinger says\, "Professor Thronson will address how changes in immigration law directly affect families\, the legal complexities of family separation\, and the humanitarian considerations that should guide policy decisions."\n\nFrom 2019 to 2024 Thronson served as the Director of the Talsky Center for Human Rights and the Alan S. Zekelman Professor of International Human Rights Law. His research focuses on the intersection of family law and immigration law\, with particular emphasis on the vulnerabilities faced by children in immigration proceedings.
