SUMMARY:Antique & Classic Boat Show
DESCRIPTION:37th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Show\n\nBoats\, BBQ\, and Brews!\n\n \n\nIt's a day of nautical fun for classic boat enthusiasts and families at the 37th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Show at the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven\, MI. The show will be held on Saturday\, June 16\, 2018 from 10 am to 4 pm during South Haven's HarborFest weekend. The show strives to perpetuate the building\, restoration\, and use of classic boats and small craft and to give participants and the public an entertaining and informative learning experience.\n\nThis year's show will feature a variety of boat styles from different eras\; all capturing classic boat building and restoration traditions to be admired and shared. Jud McKinley\, long-time exhibitor and winner of last year's Best in Show Award\, says his favorite aspects of the show are\, "meeting all of the people and talking about what I love\; classic boats." McKinley started coming to the Boat Show many years ago as an exhibitor alongside his father as a bonding experience for them both. "In the early years\, we brought a kayak we made and a Thompson\, and we've come ever since bringing a number of boats over the years." A great tradition to carry on for Father's Day weekend. McKinley will feature two antique Chris Crafts at this year's show. \n\nIn addition to beautiful boats on land and in the water\, the Museum will have amazing food from BD's BBQ food truck and local craft beer from the South Haven Brew Pub. The Museum will also be adding a living history element courtesy of the HMS Acasta reenactor group. These gentlemen will provide demonstrations and interact with guests all while donning early 19th century period dress and characters. The HMS Acasta reenactors will be at the Museum both Saturday and Sunday for Museum visitors to enjoy. Back by popular demand\, kids' toy boat-building and demonstrations make this event a real hands-on experience for all ages. \n\nThe Antique & Classic Boat Show is a great way to enjoy the Heart of the Maritime District and celebrate what HarborFest is all about.
