Are you looking for employment in the fresh outdoors this summer? Would you enjoy working on the water? Would you like to spend your workday sailing and bringing history to life aboard a tall ship? If you answered yes to these questions the Michigan Maritime Museum has an opportunity for you! We are currently accepting applications for seasonal staff crew positions aboard our tall ship Friend Good Will. You will cast off, raise and set sail, and excite passengers with thrilling tales of Great Lakes sailing history on the waters of Lake Michigan. Up to 5 sails daily on passenger excursions to and from the MMM docks.
Duties include assisting in ship operations, maintenance and upkeep, as well as passenger and Museum guest interaction. Crew report directly to the Museum’s Commander of the Fleet. Prior boating experience is preferred but not required. Must participate in and complete the Museum's Basic Seamanship Training Program on April 22-23 and May 20-21, 2023. Dependability and availability to work a flexible schedule is desired. Participation in a random drug testing program is a requirement. This is a seasonal position April thru September.
