The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to welcome new member Sweet Haven with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, November 15th.
Sweet Haven is an old-fashioned candy shop in downtown South Haven, owned by Liz and Joe Woods. The phrase “kid in a candy store” may be a cliché, but even adults become like children again when they see the wide variety of nostalgic candies available at Sweet Haven! Favorites like wax lips, soda bottles, pop rocks, big league chew, a wide variety of gummy, sour, chewy, chocolate, and hard candy beckon to adults and children alike!
Sweet treats including homemade fudge, turtles and chocolate-covered pretzels are available, as are decadent handcrafted caramels. Many of the treats are made from family recipes passed down from Liz’s great-grandmother, who was, herself, a confectioner. Liz and her husband Joe opened their first candy store in 2012 and moved to South Haven in 2016. They love carrying on the family tradition in this beautiful lakeside community, and look forward to being open all year-round in downtown South Haven.
Custom gift baskets can be created for any special occasion, and right now Sweet Haven is cranking out convenient stocking-stuffer portions for Christmas as well as filling orders for corporate gifts. Sweet Haven will also be hosting a holiday open house with Santa, sales and treats on December 16th!
