Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity ReStore

The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity ReStore, located at 2959 73^rd Street in South Haven.

 This is the second ReStore location for Lakeshore Habitat, their first is in the city of Holland. 

“The ReStore sells new and gently-used home improvement items and building materials at great prices.  This includes items such as appliances, cabinets, trim, furniture and hardware.  Proceeds from the store then go towards building affordable homes in our community through Lakeshore Habitat’s home ownership program”, says Ryan Jenkins, South Haven ReStore Manager. 

“Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is excited to be expanding into Van Buren County to provide affordable housing and critical home repair at a time when communities are struggling with high housing costs.  Our first step is opening the South Haven ReStore to begin serving the community and establishing relationships with the goal of beginning our home repair and home ownership programs in the near future”, reports Don Wilkinson, Executive Director. 

To support the store, you can donate gently used building materials and home improvement items you no longer need, you can utilize deconstruction services for your next home remodeling project, you can volunteer in the store, and of course simply shop at the South Haven ReStore.
