BEING MORTAL August 17, St. Peter’s Parish Center
The entire community is invited to a free screening of the PBS FRONTLINE film BEING MORTAL, based on the best-selling book by Atul Gawande, MD. This documentary explores the hopes and end-of-life wishes of patients and their families, who are facing a terminal illness. Their stories show us the value of shared decision-making in medicine at the end-of-life, and illustrates the importance of thinking and planning ahead as we reflect on what matters to us most.
Representatives from Hospice of Holland, Hospice at Home (South Haven), and Wings of Hope Hospice (Allegan) will have resources on each of their programs and be available to answer your individual questions.
Additionally, Carol Robinson, Community Coordinator of Making Choices Michigan, will give a short presentation explaining the resources for establishing a Patient Advocate Guide. Hand-outs will be available.
Homebodies of Western Michigan will be the host for this most inspiring and informative evening.
