Lake Michigan College Community Education Series is offering a decorative arts welding workshop open to the public.
Seasoned instructor, Heidi Closson will guide beginners and intermediates alike through the artistic and technical process of creating a beautiful work of art from cold steel.
Students will learn the basic skills and techniques of using a cutting torch and welder, and safely gain hands-on experience designing and creating a unique sculpture for home or garden.
The weekly, non-credit class runs Tuesday evenings, 6 to 9p.m. from February 10 through March 10. It is located at LMC’s M-TEC campus at 400 Klock Rd near Benton Harbor’s Arts District. The cost is $169 and includes all materials.
Closson has taught welding for 14 years, owns her own welding business with her husband John.
