The United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, Patrick Miles, will speak on the scope and role of the U.S. Attorney's Office in fighting crime. He will describe how his office collaborates with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in investigating and prosecuting federal crimes ranging from interstate and international narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, financial fraud, and national security threats. Miles will also discuss proactive efforts to prevent crime and to educate the public about detecting and avoiding criminal activity. His remarks will include ways law enforcement and the communities they serve can establish better relationships through communication and trust.
