In honor of Women’s History Month, the Historical Association of South Haven is pleased to welcome back Michigan State Capitol Director of Education and History, Valerie Marvin, for a presentation entitled, “Saving Michigan’s Past: Women & Historic Preservation”.
For more than 150 years, Michigan women have proudly preserved state and local history in libraries, museums, community centers, clubs and public buildings. They’ve suffered horrific defeats – like the loss of the old Grand Rapids City Hall – and won magnificent victories, including the preservation of Michigan’s Capitol.
Join us on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00P to learn about their work, legacies, and the tools they’ve left behind for us.
This presentation will take place at our Hartman School headquarters – 355 Hubbard St. - and is free and open to the public.
