The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce Welcomes
Newly Renovated South Haven Memorial Library

The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to welcome the newly renovated South Haven Memorial Library recently with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

This important project was made possible by a USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Loan combined with local funding.  Representing USDA Rural Development was State Director Brandon Fewings who shared; “Libraries and other facilities are essential to supporting strong rural communities.  South Haven’s project is a great example of how USDA can help our partners achieve their goals”.  The new improvements include adding 1,500 square feet of interior space, upgraded technology, enhanced accessibility, upgraded heating and cooling systems along with roof replacement.   

Library Director, Jim France proudly accepted a special proclamation from Senator Aric Nesbitt, presented by Constituent Relations and District Director, Josh Prygocki, as library staff, board members, and City of South Haven Leaders looked on.  The history of the library dates back to 1905 when it was built as a Carnegie Library in the building that now houses the South Haven Center for the Arts.  Go to  https://bit.ly/3xACgcI to learn about this history.  The current location was originally built in 1958, and later renovated and expanded in 1989.

Hours for the library are Monday through Thursday, 10a – 8p; Friday 10a – 6p, and Saturday 10a – 4p.
