SOUTHHAVENMI.COM: As a member, your business automatically receives a basic listing on the southhavenmi.com website. This listing contains your business name, contact information, a brief description of your business and a link to your website. As part of your Chamber membership you can be placed under several categories providing greater access to you business via our website’s search function. In addition, members can choose to take advantage of several marketing options such as banner ads, premium placement, job posting, adding video and interactive tools to your listing and more!
SMALL BUSINESS COUNSELING SERVICES: As a member, you have access to small business counseling services through the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Lakeshore 504 Loan Programs, and SCORE: Counselors to America’s Small Business. These services are provided in a confidential nature on a free-of-charge basis and are available to anyone interested in starting a business, those who have an existing business, and entrepreneurs interested in growing and expanding their business.
INSURANCE: GROUP HEALTH, AUTO & HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE: Through your Chamber of Commerce, members may have access to reduced insurance rates and benefits. Ask your agent for more details!
CHAMBER COMMUNICATIONS: Weekly E-newsletter offers Chamber programming information, information about area events and activities, and other pertinent information that may impact our member businesses.
MEMBER MAILINGS: All members have access to the Chamber’s Bulk Mailing Permit and can save up to 35% on regular mailing costs. In addition, members have access to a complete mailing list of Chamber members who are a good target audience for a bulk mailing, as well as a complimentary set of mailing labels per year.
SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: New members joining the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce are eligible to receive a $500 matching advertising package from Mid-West Family Broadcasting (103.7 COSY FM, 98.3 The Coast, 94.9/14000 WSJM, Rock 107 WIRX, 97.5 YCountry) and the Sunset Coast Newspaper Group (South Haven Tribune, The Herald-Palladium, The South County Gazette, The Shopping Times, The Other Side of the Lake and RSVP Magazine). CALENDAR OF EVENTS: As a means of keeping both our members and the communities we serve up to date with area happenings, the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce publishes a comprehensive Calendar of Events online at www.southhavenmi.com. Our members are welcome to submit calendar events on behalf of their own business!
VISITOR RESOURCE ROOM: Members can display marketing materials such as brochures and business cards in our office lobby for tourists and newcomers to our community.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY: The South Haven Chamber of Commerce produces a yearly Membership Directory which is distributed locally and mailed to interested parties upon request.
CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN: Many of South Haven's manufacturing companies are expanding their overseas exports. Shipments often require a certificate of local manufacture from the Chamber of Commerce. Our staff is ready to assist your needs relative to exporting opportunities.
LEADS AND REFERRALS: Each year your Chamber of Commerce receives thousands of telephone calls and walk-in visitors requesting information about the communities we serve and the businesses in the greater South Haven area. Our sophisticated membership management database allows us to send out real-time referrals and leads to our members.
AMBASSADOR CLUB: The Ambassador Club helps to keep positive news in the press by welcoming new businesses to the South Haven area with Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for new member businesses and by presenting Business Excellence Awards to area businesses. Ambassadors often act as hospitality volunteers at After Business Ours events and other Chamber programs, and are relied upon to be front-line representatives of the Chamber and business community.
