Defining Young Professionals

Young Professionals, a personal and professional development program led by the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of South Haven. The program encourages young business people to develop and enhance leadership skills, exchange ideas, share common interests, learn more about the area’s business community, and engage in the community’s future.

• Attract and retain young professionals in the South Haven community.

• Encourage young professionals to prepare themselves for positions in business and public leadership through the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals networking opportunities.

• Improve networking skills, expand contact bases and advance careers.

The South Haven Area Young Professionals Celebrates Earth Day with
Young Professionals for a Greener South Haven

The South Haven Area Young Professionals proudly celebrated Earth Day with their community-focused initiative, Young Professionals for a Greener South Haven, bringing together local volunteers for a day dedicated to caring for the place they call home.

A group of 21 volunteers, both local and from outside the South Haven area, gathered to clean up key community spaces including a section of the Kal-Haven Trail, SHOUT Park, and the Black River Park Marina and Boat Launch. Working together, the group made a meaningful and visible impact, collecting an impressive 560 pounds of garbage and helping preserve the natural beauty of South Haven for residents and visitors alike.

As the first initiative of its kind for the Young Professionals, the event reflects a growing commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for members to engage with the community in impactful ways. Beyond the cleanup, the day fostered connection, collaboration, and a shared sense of pride in making a difference.

The South Haven Area Young Professionals extend their sincere appreciation to all who participated and contributed their time and energy. A special thank you to Republic Services for their generous sponsorship and hands-on support by providing essential cleanup supplies for volunteers, assisting with the disposal of collected waste, and even bringing team members out to volunteer alongside the group. Their partnership played a key role in making the event a success.

This Earth Day effort is just the beginning, demonstrating the power of community when people come together with a shared purpose.
