    MECHANICAL REPAIR WORKER

    Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking Mechanical Repair Workers to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

    JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

    Repair complex equipment such as reactors, turbines, generators, feed-water heaters, condensers, pumps, valves, etc.
    Less Complex Machining using portable equipment.
    Must do essential functions of lower rated jobs.

    JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Direct up to 4 employees and perform duties such as performing maintenance activities on mechanical equipment and components.
    • Operation of precision measuring equipment including pump alignment and lapping valves.
    • Participate in plant assessment programs.
    • Planning work activities related to mechanical maintenance of the plant structures and components.
    • Perform duties as training subject matter expert.
    • Perform quality verification inspections.
    • Perform other similar and related work activities within the skill level of the classification as directed by management/ supervision.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum experience required of the position:
    • Previous Nuclear Plant experience preferred, but not required.
    Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
    • Must have a practical working knowledge of machine shop tools and practices.
    • Must have practical working knowledge of steam, electrical, and mechanical apparatus.
    • Must successfully complete the required training programs as they relate to the job description.


    Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:
    • Successful completion of the EEI MASS test.

    This is a union position.
    Wage (based on level): $44.69 - $59.65.
