            • Dirt in the Skirt 5K

              About the Race
This 5K run/walk event will put you smack in the middle of nature as you run the rows and climb the hills around our orchards. You'll be dodging through our apple rows, side-stepping through our strawberry fields & dashing along our corn rows. As you push yourself through our 3.1 mile course, you'll also be raising money & awareness for childhood cancer research. LastDirt in the Skirt 5K 868 year, we raised over $2,000 for CureSearch who's funding goes directly to finding a cure for children's cancer. We're hoping to double the donated amount in 2016!
75% of all registration fees will go to support CureSearch, a childhood cancer research organization. Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. 12% do not survive. We want to do our part to change this and give our kids a chance at life!
We're going to have some fun too! We're challenging all runners to flaunt a tutu or skirt during the run! For every person that wears a tutu or skirt, Stokes Homestead Farm Market will donate an extra $1 per person to CureSearch.
There will be an after-party once you've completed the race with food & drinks & music!
Our 5K is not a timed, competitive event. We will have a clock running so you may gauge your time. However, we will not be using chip timing.
              Flaunt Your Tutus!
If you would like to pre-order your tutu for the day of the race, click here. Please specify how many tutus you want, the size & colors you choose. The cost is $12.00 per tutu for up to TWO colors. Any additional colors may cost extra. Part of the proceeds will be donated to childhood cancer research. A local woman who designs tutus will customize your tutu (for kids & adults) with the color you want and the correct size.
Remember, if you strut your stuff in a tutu, Stokes Homestead Farm Market will donate an extra $1.00 per person to CureSearch!
              After-Party
There will be an after-party on the lawn of the farm Market directly after the race. All participants will get a free pancake brunch and drinks. Each participant will receive a ticket for Dirt in the Skirt 5K 1408brunch in their goody bag. This ticket must be presented in order to get your meal after the race. Participant families are welcome to the after-party and will need to pay an additional $3.00 fee for brunch if they wish to eat. This can be purchased when you pick up your packet the day before or the day-of the race. This is not a timed race event. Every participant will receive a goody bag & a medal!
