Ring in the New Year in South Haven

Join us as we close our streets, drop 1,000 beach balls from the city center, and dazzle you with fireworks at midnight!  We have lodging opportunities where you can stay, play, and be safe during a night of celebration for the whole family!  Restaurants are offering special menu items to tempt your tastebuds and beverages to wet your whistle.

Schedule of Events

As you stroll our streets, stop by our warming stations hosted by select merchants where they will welcome you with warmth and surprises. As the night progresses, immerse yourself in local cuisine, spirits, and shopping while vibing with the DJ keeping your spirits alive under the moonlight. Put on your party hats, dress to impress, find a front-row seat for the festivities, and book your stay at southhaven.org before time runs out!

 

Family Celebration | 6 to 8:30 pm

South Haven Center for the Arts has some family fun planned for those with young ones who want to celebrate the New Year! Crafts, music, refreshments and an "early midnight" ball drop at 8:00 PM. $15 for member families, $20 for non-member families.  Click here to view their website and purchase tickets.  

 

Ice Skating Downtown, Pavilion Rink |7 to 9 pm 

Bring your own skates and enjoy the ice rink for a free family fun time!  No charge for the first 200 skaters. Don’t have your own skates - they are available to rent right at the rink!  

 

The Mitten Glow Party | 5 to 7 pm

The Mitten, 246 Broadway Street

The Mitten Children’s Museum invites you to their Glow Party, from 5 to 7 pm. Glow sticks/jewelry, glow-in-the-dark tattoos, dance music and blue lights on the main level, with regular open play and special activities such as do it yourself noisemakers upstairs (extras will be available downstairs for anyone with mobility issues). Activities and craft included with admission of $7 per person; $2 with WIC or EBT card.

“Hop On” New Year's Eve Trolley | 8 pm to 1 am

We’re partnering with VanBuren Transit Authority and invite you to “Hop On” the trolley and take a ride to outlying restaurants and the downtown area!  With no charge to guests, a continuous loop will run from 8 pm to 1 am from the New Park Gastropub, The Lodge, Three Blondes and American Legion.  Here’s the route and map.  

 

DJ and Light Show | 9 pm to 12:15 am

Gather in the center of South Haven for dancing and entertainment. Join COSY FM's own Paul Layendecker, as he adds fun and flair to our downtown celebrations!

Gather in the center of town for the midnight countdown! You won't want to miss the ball drop; make sure to grab yourself a souvenir beach ball. Gaze up and enjoy the night-ending fireworks, it's the perfect way to ring in the new year!  Intersection of Center and Phoenix.
