Humane Education Day
Join Al-Van Humane Society and the Michigan Maritime Museum for a fun, family-friendly afternoon exploring what it means to care for animals and build a more compassionate community.
Humane education is about helping people, especially children, develop kindness, empathy, and respect for animals while learning how our actions can make a positive difference in the lives of people and pets around us. Through hands-on activities, Humane Education Day brings these ideas to life in an engaging way for kids and families.
Guests will also have the opportunity to meet adoptable pets from Al-Van Humane Society and learn more about adoption, fostering, and ways they can help animals in our community.
This free, drop-in event will take place on Sunday, November 1 from 12:00–3:00 PM in conjunction with the Michigan Maritime Museum's Free First Sunday. Families are welcome to stop by anytime during the event and participate at their own pace.
Come learn, explore, meet some furry friends, and discover how small acts of kindness can make a big difference for animals and our community!
