The South Haven Speakers Series, with the theme "Issues, Innovations and Ideas Shaping our Lives", was launched in 2015 for the purpose of informing citizens by stimulating thought on significant issues of the day through presentations by non-partisan experts not otherwise available to South Haven. The 2016 series will feature five presentations beginning in April and continuing through October.
The Series is made possible through grants from the South Haven Community Foundation, Meijer, and Carole & Don Hodgman. Refreshments are served after the presentation.
If you've been asking "what happened to compromise and dialogue?" or "who stole my political party?" you aren't alone! Please join us for an enlightening panel discussion about the lack of civility and other questions surrounding the political landscape in 2016.
A panel of speakers will speak to the topic "Why Can't We All Just Get Along" on Thursday, May 5th. Featured will be Rick Albin, a veteran WOOD-TV newsman who hosts the weekly program "To The Point", retired US Congressman Dr. Joe Schwarz and retired State Representative Joan Bauer. They will share their views on why our political institutions have become so dysfunctional.
