    About Us

    The Michigan Maritime Museum strives to to preserve, interpret, and invite the public to experience and learn about our Great Lakes maritime heritage and culture. Five separate buildings offer a variety of engaging opportunities for the museum visitor, including permanent and changing exhibits on Michigan maritime history, a center for teaching boat building and maritime skills, and regionally renowned research library. The Museum has several on-water experiences and exhibits. The sloop Friends Good Will, a replica historic tall ship, is available for day sails, sunset sails, as well as private charters. Lindy Lou, a replica river launch gives cruises up river. Motor lifeboat USCG 36460 takes passengers out

    Tall Ship Staff Crew The Michigan Maritime Museum is currently interviewing for staff crew positions for tall ship Friends Good Will’s 2024 sailing season. Applicants will need to complete 2 weekends of training, April 20 & 21 and May 18 & 19. This is a seasonal position from May through September.
