  • Cardboard Sled Race

    We're so excited for the 4th annual Cardboard Sled Race! It will be held on Saturday, February 1st. Registration is between 1pm and 3pm on Phoenix Street between Taste and Black River Tavern. You must register in order to compete. The race will be held at the Lighthouse Keeper's hill (sometimes called Coast Guard Hill) at the corner of Michigan and St. Joseph St. at 3:30pm. Competing in 3 divisions: Kids (13 and under), Adults & Families, and Business/Organizations. We've updated the scoring based on experience and feedback- teams will be scored solely on sled design and team spirit. The downhill race is for exhibition only and does not contribute to scoring this year, however teams must participate in the downhill "race" to be eligible for prizes.   • Frozen Fish Fling

    WHEN     
    Saturday, February 1st from 2:00pm-3:00pm
    WHERE  
    At Riverfront Park near the Southside Marina
    WHO       
    Adults and kids can participate.
    WHAT     
    The FROZEN FISH FLING is back by popular demand!
    WHY        
    It is FUN and FUNNY to watch and it raises money for the National Blueberry Festival!
    HOW
    Contestants will line up at the designated starting line, choose their fish and FLING it at far as they can! Each throw is $5.00 for adults. At the end of the time period, the winner of the “farthest fling” gets ½ of the money collected! A separate track will be set up for the kids “fun fling”. Kids pay $1 per fling, and each kid gets a prize. Kids can fling the rubber fish instead of the real ones.
