    Black River Manor

South Haven, MI – August 15, 2025- The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to welcome Black River Manor to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting ceremony at their picturesque location along the Central Branch of the Black River.

Founded in 2021, Black River Manor is dedicated to providing outdoor family adventures that encourage guests to “leave your devices and all their vices behind.” In 2023, the business became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, expanding its mission to serve disadvantaged children as well as the general public introducing them to experiences such as fishing, gardening, and exploring nature beyond an urban setting.

Black River Manor offers a variety of experiences designed to connect families with the beauty of Southwest Michigan. The property features fifteen luxury Amish-built log cabins, each sleeping six to ten guests, with stunning river views. Visitors can enjoy 4.5 miles of wooded trails with three bridges, professional courts for both beach volleyball and bocce ball, and a massive 50-by-50-foot sandbox for endless play. The Joe Louis Events Barn, connected to a 30-by-90-foot events greenhouse, provides space for gatherings of all kinds. A 150-person chapel, complete with oak pews and stained glass from St. Columba Church of Chicago, adds a unique and historic touch. Looking ahead, the Manor is developing a regenerative health spa featuring a Morozko ice bath, outdoor sauna, red light therapy, and a high-end lap/hot tub for guests seeking wellness experiences.

Adding to its offerings, Black River Manor also operates a 14-passenger bus equipped with a high-quality sound system and lights, providing local transportation for guests in and around South Haven. This service is a valuable asset for connecting visitors to the community and will play a key role in the Manor’s presence in the area for years to come.

“As a father of nine and a lifelong lover of the great outdoors, I wanted to create a place my own family would be excited to visit,” shared Dan FioRito. “If I can get my wife and kids to approve, I know other families will love it, too.”

The Chamber is proud to welcome Black River Manor and support their mission of encouraging families to reconnect with each other and with nature, while highlighting the unique beauty of the South Haven area.
