  • The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce Congratulates
    Waters View Inn

South Haven, MI – May 3, 2022 - The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the re-naming of the landmark northside B&B formerly known as The Last Resort.  This unique property will now be aptly named Waters View Inn.

Kristina Lindemulder purchased the historic resort one year ago and with the help of Chef/Operations Manager, Sarah Peterson and many dedicated family members, have enhanced it’s many unique and special characteristics.

Kristina shares “the logo colors and the name just hit home for us, having attended South Haven High School with the purple and gold running through our veins.  Our goal is that this Inn can be the bridge or connection of both tourists and locals.  We love sharing this town with both first-time visitors to our area or to long-time residents.  We encourage people to stop by and see this beautiful and historical Inn.”

With all the modern luxuries and comforts the 16 rooms have to offer, it is hard to believe the building is 139 years old.  Built in 1883 by Barney Dyckman and opened as Park Grove Place, it was the first resort built in South Haven.  It became St. Cloud resort in 1900, and in 1923 the Inn was purchased by Louis & Nettie Schrayer and renamed The Plaza.  In 1983, Mary Hammer opened as The Last Resort Inn and became South Haven’s first Bed & Breakfast.  Chef Sarah came up with the idea of further incorporating local history by naming each room and placing a plaque in the room detailing this.  Waters View Inn is truly a gem, and one that will live on in our local history.
