    Customer Service Staff at South Haven Marinas are responsible for greeting boaters and welcoming them to the marina.  Staff will provide friendly customer service, answer general questions, and provide information as needed.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide front desk support for boaters
    • Provide guests with slip information as needed
    • Sell ice and process payments
    • Answer phones
    • Make reservations
    • Additional duty for Northside Marina Staff
      • Sell Black River Park gate keys
    • Additional duties and responsibilities for Southside Marina Staff
      • Run arrival and departure report at the start of each day
      • Transfer arrival and departure information to dock sheet
      • Check in boaters as they arrive
      • Check out boaters as they depart
      • Post daily weather forecast for boaters
      • Ensure all departures have departed by the specified check-out time
      • Reserve overnight slips and process payments
      • Reserve temporary slips and process payments
      • If possible, accommodate last minute reservations
    • Other duties as assigned
    • May be required to cross-train as Dock Hand

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience:
    High School Diploma or GED preferred.  If a minor, must provide us with a work certificate from your school.

     

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Must have the ability to always display a friendly and professional demeanor.  Must have reliable transportation available to get to/from work.  Must be dependable, adaptable/flexible, and people oriented. Must be able to address unforeseen circumstances that arise.

     

    LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION
    If over 18 years of age, may be required to drive a City vehicle. If required to drive a City vehicle, must have a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.

     

    TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
    Computer, printer, calculator, marine radio, phone, cash register, credit card machine.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and smell.

    • Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 40 pounds.
    • Must be able to stand or be physically active for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to tolerate prolonged exposure to sunlight.
