• On-Water Fleet Captains

    The Michigan Maritime Museum is looking for qualified, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individuals for On-Water Fleet Captains. This role works closely with the Fleet Captain to ensure the smooth operation of boating schedules and the safety and enjoyment of guests. 

    Responsibilities include:

    • Captaining one or more of our historic and replica fleet

    • Keeping guests safe and informed of safety procedures while on-board the vessels.

    • Facilitating historical tours for guests during their ride.

    • Accurately answering guest questions about history and details of the On-Water Fleet.

     

    Required attributes include a current 25 ton or higher Masters Credentia, a current first aid/CPR certification, and proficiency in boat handling. All captains must participate in a random drug testing program.

    This is a seasonal, part-time position that runs through September.This position requires a willingness to work weekends, weekdays, and occasional evenings and holidays.
